Biography

Yussi's music can be heard on TV Shows such as TMZ, Extra, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Miss Universe and on networks like Nat Geo, Sundance Channel and Food Network. He composed the musical score to the feature film Stellina Blue and wrote music for the films Two Weeks Notice and Help Wanted.

Yussi's own solo albums Bandidos de Amor, El Pirata, Velvet Rebel, Atomik Inferno and Exotic Wizard, Galactic Vampire, Phantom Radio, Sound Pilot have been released on the X Dot 25 Music label. He also released two album with his band Bandidos de Amor.

Born in Frauenfeld, Switzerland Yussi began to play guitar in 1985 and studied at the Jazz Institute St. Gallen. After playing in a dozen bands and recording a single with The Minimals he moved to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute in Hollywood where he graduated with honors and now teaches. In 1993 he enrolled at L.A.V.C to study classical guitar, arranging, orchestration and attend master classes. In 1994 Yussi began to play mandolin, banjo and other string instruments, studied flamenco with L.A teachers and sitar with master Hari Har Rao. Soon Narada recording artists Axiom of Choice invited him to join the band for their debut album Beyond Denial. In 1995 he designed a series of guitars with Luthier Boaz Elkayam, released Yussi & Django's album Bandidos de Amor and played on Ricky Martin's A Medio Vivir, featuring the hit song Maria. He also played on Ricky's Grammy winning 1998 release Vuelve and recorded or performed with Rick Springfield, Paulina Rubio, Lucero, Christian Castro, Taboo, Robi Rosa and more.

Since 1995 Yussi played on over 150 albums, numerous film scores, TV shows, commercials and documentaries. He also appeared in the movies Paulie, Love and Basketball and Collateral and performed on five Continents.

An electronica record is about to be released and he is currently mixing his next yet untitled Acoustic album.
